To the anon asking how Quidditch would give a guy a great Ryan Gosling-esque body, it's probably not so much the actual sport of Quidditch that gives the boys muscle but probably training off the broom that is probably needed such as throwing around a Quaffle for the Chasers and Keepers, probably practicing baseball like swings for Beaters, and other drills to keep Seekers in shape and on the slimmer side. I don't know, just a thought.

In my headcanon, I see James as someone who fell in love with the idea of who he thought Lily was (which wasn’t that far off), and when they actually became friends first he loved her but… differently, if that makes sense.

True, love is a tricky word. I tend to think real love only exists with someone you genuinely know as a person - therefore I see James really falling in love with Lily as something that happened later, when there was a real relationship between them.

Real talk. I also think they were probably in a ‘we’re friends now’ stage before dating and, as something of a gradual progression, the beginnings of love could have started there.

I agree with this, but I think there were a lot of rumors surrounding his sexual life, like a few girls spreading rumors about sleeping with him that he didn’t necessarily deny.

I could see this happening. But also surely Hogwarts students have better ~~people~~ things to be ~~spreading rumors about~~ doing. ~~Like Sirius.~~

I don’t know that I agree he fell in love with Lily at age 15. A crush or attraction isn’t love. I kinda tend to reject the idea that James was just pining for Lily the entire time they were at Hogwarts.

Love is a pretty tricky word but yeah I agree with this. He definitely liked Lily by 15 and I’m sure that came into play but there were surely other things going on.

i'm assuming you make art in your art class. will we ever see any of it?

Also agree with this. The idea of James sex-god Potter is not one I buy into.

However I do think he was popular and had his fair share of sexy experience. And while I’m not entirely opposed to the idea, I don’t think Lily was the only woman he ever had sex with. It was the time of the sexual revolution after all. And they were a bunch of teenagers in a magical castle with questionable adult supervision.

Number 1: Quidditch doesn't make your body look like Ryan Goslin's. Gym does that. I've read I don't even know how many fics where Ron/Harry/James/Sirius takes his shirt off and the girl in question is all "Oh my god I love Quidditch, look at those biceps and those pectorals and those abs and blablabla, I want to lick them all over". And even though I quite agree about licking some of them all over (ops!), come on! How's sitting on a broomstick going tho give you all that?

I still think it qualifies as a sport and there would be some physical exertion involved, but perhaps not to movie star creation levels.
